Day 68
September 14, 2008
Drove from Bellingham, WA to
Jantzen Beach RV Park, Portland, OR
We left the Bellingham RV Park around 9 a.m. (Washington time, LOL) and drove to Portland. I think we got here around 3 p.m.. There was so much traffic on Rt. 5 that it was hard to get any pictures. The traffic was moving pretty good, but it was bumper to bumper and sometimes it was 4 lanes wide. Merrell had been so used to driving in Alaska and Canada where there was NO traffic that it took him awhile to get in the groove. I think he prefers the Alaska and Canada drive!!! He was driving so fast that he blew this one house right off of it's foundation. Check it out. Teeheehee
We had to fill up with diesel and it was the cheapest we had paid since we left home.
Wow!! It's kind of sad when you think $3.99 a gallon is good, isn't it?? :>)
We saw Mt. Rainier in the distance, but it was so foggy, we couldn't get good pictures. Washington is a beautiful state and we saw farming land in the distance, but being on Interstate, you can't really get a good look at what it's really like. Seattle traffic was the worst. We thought it wouldn't be bad on a sunday, but it was heavy. I think there was a football game and a lot of the traffic might have been because of that.
After we got to the RV park here, Ian and Sandra and Sandra's friend Isaac came over for dinner and a visit. We had a great visit with them. They are a hoot!!

Ian, Donna, Sandra and Carolee
Sandra, Carolee and Isaac
I just realized that Merrell isn't in these pictures. Of course, it's hard to be in the pics when you are the one taking them. Teeheehee
We are heading out now (9/15/08) to see Merrell's cousin and a little bit of the Portland area. Catch ya later,
Love, US
