Day 64- September 10, 2008

Day 64
September 10, 2008
Brookside RV Park
Cache Creek, B.C. Canada

This part of Canada is so totally different from anything we have seen in other parts of Canada. Yesterday, we were driving through farm land with lots of fields and cattle and then "boom" here we were in a whole different world. It's almost like we are in the wild west. The mountains are so strange, for want of a better word. Last night as we were driving into Cache Creek, it was almost dark and the mountains were almost scary looking. One of the guys here at the campground told Merrell that they were making a movie here about the last days of the world and I can believe it We were so intrigued by the mountains that we drove back to Clinton today and stopped to take pictures. Clinton is only a few miles back from where we camped last night. We went to a couple of antique shops and ate lunch and took more pictures and came back to the campground around 4 p.m.

Another view of the mountains

And yet another view of the mountains

And yet ANOTHER view of the mountains

I love old wagons and this one was at a "junk" store in Clinton.

This old wagon was in front of the Winery at Cache Creek, but unfortunately the Winery was closed!!! Doesn't this look like it could have been taken in the Wild West somewhere??

Carolee spotted this neat old abandoned Church near Cache Creek so we drove up and took a few pictures. It is really tall and narrow. Such a shame that it is abandoned and surrounded by a lot of trash. I couldn't see a name anywhere, so we don't know what kind of church it was.

We saw this place yesterday on the way in, but could not get good pictures from the window of the motorhome, so we went back today and took a few pictures. The horse wasn't too co-operative and wouldn't look at the camera, but other than that the picture came out OK. We got some more pictures of old buildings and barns, but I figured I shouldn't post toooooooo many more pictures today.

We had a nice day today. The weather was wonderful!! The warmest we've had in quite awhile. LOL

I guess we will be leaving here tomorrow and crossing the border into Washington. At least I think that is the plan.

We will be back in touch as soon as we have cell and/or internet service.

Love,
US
