Day 57-September 3, 2008

Day 57
September 3, 2008
Left Ocean Side RV Park in Haines AK
Heading to Skagway, AK

I'm sitting in front of the ferry office in the motor home watching it rain and watching the lights of the ferry coming up the waterway. We are in line waiting to board. We have about an hour and 15 minutes left before the ferry gets underway again. We won't get to Skagway until after 11 and I'm not sure how long it will take to disembark after we get there. In any event, it will probably be midnight before we get settled anywhere.

It was rainy and yucky today, so we just basically hung around the motorhome and caught up on "chores". Merrell and Chuck went uptown to the post office and grocery store. Carolee did some more sewing and embroidery stuff.

After they got back, Merrell played us some tunes on the mandolin and then we watched the Republican Convention. I think Sarah Palin did a great job with her speech. She let everyone know right off that she is human, her family is human, but she isn't someone who will sit back and be quiet. She was actually quite feisty!! I do believe that she would make a good vice president. I also believe that she could step into the shoes of the President if it should become necessary. It takes a strong steady person to handle a political office. I heard a lot of good things about her in Anchorage even before her name was mentioned for the vice presidency. The people of Alaska seem to really like and respect her. I hope if they make it into office that they end up being what they appear to be. Only time will tell.

Merrell Playing us some good ole' Bluegrass/Country music. I told you he was feeling fit as a fiddle. LOL

We had hamburgers and french fries for dinner. Easy to fix and Merrell and Chuck like them a lot. They are easy to please in the food department. If they don't like what we fix, they either don't eat or eat it anyway!! :>)

Well, they are getting the ferry traffic organized, so I guess I had best go.

Catch ya later,
Love US
