Drove from Nugget City, Yukon, Canada to
Bell II Crossing, Yukon Canada
to Dave's RV Park, Vanderhoof, BC Canada
and from there to Brookside RV Park, Cache Creek, BC, Canada
We drove to Bell II Crossing, Yukon Canada from Nugget City on the 7th. Yesterday we drove from there to Dave's RV Park in Vanderhoof, BC in Canada. It's amazing what a difference you can see in the scenery and temperatures in a couple of days time. It's almost 10 a.m. and it is 55 already. It was in the 40's when we got up. We're almost ready to leave this campground and I don't know if we will have internet access when we stop tonight. We should be back in the states by tomorrow night if all goes well. We should have cell and internet after we get into Washington. We are going to Prince George and then head down Rt. 97 to the border crossing at Sumas. I like to let people know the general route we are taking because we don't have cell or internet service all of the time. You never know when an emergency will arise. The license plate on our 1991 Elite motor home is from Florida and it has WV WITTS on the plates. The car is a 2000 Saturn with WV plates and I don't know their numbers. I guess I should have posted this at the start of our trip, huh? LOL
Anyway, the drive has been good for the most part. When we first started on the Cassiar Road, it was pretty rough and Merrell was wondering what kind of mess I had gotten him into!! LOL I wanted to come back down a different road and see different things than we saw on the way up!! We were on a lot of gravel road and lots of places that they were trying to fix the road. It was slow going the first day. We probably averaged about 30 m.p.h.. We stopped at Jade City and they had the neatest Jade jewelry. It's mined and designed there. I got a few slivers of jade from the ground where they were sawing the large stones so we could put it in our scrapbooks. We also bought a few pieces of the jade jewelry. Not too far past the Jade Store the road started to get better and it's been a great road since then. I actually drove the motor home for a little way just to say I drove in Canada. Carolee filmed me driving and got some pics that I will post when I have more time. A motor home is a LOT bigger when you're driving it than when you're riding. Teeheehee I'm glad I drove it because now I know that if I had to, I could do it.....
We did see a black bear on the road yesterday. We had stopped to get a picture of a glacier and Chuck saw it crossing the road. We got some distance shots, but nothing too close. For some reason no one wanted to walk up the road towards the bear.................... I would have taken their picture!!!!!
Merrell is outside on a ladder washing the windows so we can take more pictures. By evening yesterday the windows were so "buggy" that we couldn't take pictures. If we had made him stop every time we saw something we wanted a picture of, we would still be driving through Montana on the way to Alaska. Teeheehee So we just have to take them out the windows and hope for the best.
Well, we're about ready to pull out. We'll post again when we get somewhere with internet access. It's a BEAUTIMOUS day today. The sky is so blue with white fluffy clouds and it will probably get into the 60's again today. It was 60 something yesterday. It's already 57 just in the time it took me to type this post and I type FAST!! :>)
Catch ya later,
Love, US

We had stopped to take some glacier pictures on the Stewart-Hyder Access Road (off of the Cassiar Highway) and Chuck saw this bear crossing the road and we took pictures, even though he wasn't really close enough to get a good one.
This is the Bear Glacier on the Stewart-Hyder road off of the Cassiar Highway.

Dave's RV Park in Vanderhoof, B.C. Canada where we spent the night. They had some beautiful flowers.
