Day 92
October 8, 2008
Skyline Drive RV Park, Queen Creek, Arizona

We drove to Phoenix today. It was about an hour's drive from Queen Creek. Our first stop was going out to lunch with one of our friends, Jeannie Fisher, that used to live in Covington. We were neighbors and friends for years. I used to babysit for her son Billy and daughter Sabrina (not the same one that was in yesterday's post). She moved to Arizona about 20 years ago. It's hard to believe it's been that long, but she assured me it has!! :>)

I saw Jeannie a few months ago when she flew back to Covington for her father's funeral, but I had not seen Billy since he was in his early teens. He's in his 30's now with a son of his own. My how time flies................. Sabrina lives in California and has two children of her own. I would love to have seen her, but there just wasn't enough time.

We went out to lunch with Jeannie and Billy (Carolee, Chuck, Merrell and I). Great Mexican restaurant. We didn't have a lot of time to spend with them, but it was wonderful just having any time together.

Merrell, Donna, Jeannie and Billy. We had a wonderful mini reunion. We're going to stay in touch from here on out. No more years between communication!!!!

After our lunch, we went to Sam's and did some shopping and Carolee and I discovered a Goodwill close by. We just HAD to shop for a little bit. I didn't find anything, but Carolee did!!! LOL

After Goodwill, we went to Carolee and Chuck's grand daughter Monique's house. She also lives in Phoenix with her husband Adam and their two children, Christian and Ashlynn. We had a wonderful meal of pizza and buffalo wings. Once again we didn't have nearly long enough to spend with them, but we had a wonderful visit. They both had to work the next day and the kids had school, so we left about 8:30. Carolee got some good pictures of them, but I will have to wait to post them until I can load them on my computer.

We are leaving tomorrow morning heading to New Mexico. It's been pretty hot here. In the 90's, which is a change after the cool weather in the Grand Canyon area.

Catch ya later,
